Snow Day: Tuesday, Feb. 9th

The New School and all Fayetteville Public Schools have decided to close for today, Tuesday, February 9th, due to dangerous driving conditions.  There will be no childcare of any kind at The New School today.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding.

As of now, school is closed for Tuesday only.  Parents can refer to the homepage of our website or our twitter feed for the most up-to-date information about further closings.  Remember, if the Fayetteville Public Schools announce a closing, the New School closes as well.

Questions? Contact Taylor: taylor@thenewschool.org

Snow Day Policy Reminder:

The New School's snow day policy is to close automatically when the Fayetteville Public Schools close for bad weather.  Parents can listen to local TV or radio stations for school closings.  For the most up-to-date New School Snow Day info, visit the homepage of our website.

If weather becomes bad during the day and public schools close, we will remain open until all students have been picked up.  We do ask parents to make an effort to pick up their children early, so that we may release staff to pick up children or drive home.

Mayor Jordan Visits 2nd Grade

Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan recently visited our 2nd grade classrooms to explain the role of the mayor in city politics.  Mayor Jordan walked through a typical day in the life of a mayor, then took questions from our students.

We're so grateful to Mayor Jordan for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit with our students at The New School.
