Middle School Informational Meeting:

All parents are invited to attend the Middle School Informational Meeting, an in-depth conversation regarding the academic and social aspects unique to The New School.  The meeting is on Tuesday, December 2 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm in the Baledge Arts Annex.  The highlights will include the strong academic program and transitions concerning middle school and junior high.  We will also hear from current and past parents, along with New School alumni.

2008 Cup Stacking Event:

Stack Up was a huge success this year with 229 total students present.  The record this year should be over 190,000, but the final totals are not yet in.  Dasun will let everyone know the new record when it becomes available.  Thank you parents for letting your students participate and bring their cups.

You can still order cups until Monday, December 1.  Go to www.speedstacks.com and click on the group order button.  Those of you that have ordered cups will have them as soon as all the orders are submitted on December 1.  They should arrive before the winter break.  If you have any other questions, you may contact Dasun at 521-7037 or dasun@thenewschool.org.

Individual Picture Retake Proofs Are Here:

If your child had retakes made, you will find the proof packet for these photos either in his/her parent file or in their Friday folder.  Orders for retakes may be turned in at the office, and the deadline for orders is Friday, December 10.

Box Tops:

Just by collecting box tops, you are able to earn cash for The New School that is used for Staff Appreciation gifts.  Detailed information is in each parent file.  For more information, visit www.boxtops4education.com.

Basketball for K – 3rd Grades:

Registration for K-3 basketball has began at The Boys & Girls Club.  Please check your parent files for important information about the league.  The deadline for registration is December 23rd.  If you have any questions about basketball, please contact Vaden at 521-7037 or vadens@thenewschool.org.

Quickstart Tennis:

The New School is pleased to offer quickstart tennis to students in 1st and 2nd grades beginning in January.  This activity is offered in conjunction with Summerhill Racquet Club and will take place on Monday afternoons at Summerhill from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.  Please check your parent files for registration information.  Sign up now, space is limited!  If you have any questions, please contact Vaden at 521-7037 04 vadens@thenewschool.org.

The Annual Fund Impacts Our Students:

Be on the lookout for your Annual Fund pledge card to arrive in your mailbox soon. Please give special consideration when making your tax-deductible contribution. Gifts to the Annual Fund allow The New School to provide a unique standard of excellence for our children.

The Role of Grandparents in our Annual Fund:

Because tuition and fees cover only 88% of the annual operating budget, the funds donated by Grandparents are vital to the success of our school.  This Year's goal for the Annual Fund drive is $150,000. We hope that many of our grandparents will help support this non-profit program by making a tax-deductible donation. Please contact Joy Morris (479) 521-7037 or joym@thenewschool.org to make sure that your child's Grandparents are on the mailing list to receive the Annual Fund pledge card.

Gifts to the Annual Fund will be acknowledged in the front lobby of The New School and in the annual report. Special acknowledgement of gifts made by Grandparents will include the names of their grandchildren.
