La Fiesta 2011
Raises $114,000!
La Fiesta 2011 was held on Saturday, May 7th at The New School in Fayetteville. Nearly 400 New School families and friends attended the Cinco de Mayo celebration and over $114,000 was raised for The New School. The “South of the Border” event was presented by the Northwest Arkansas Center for Plastic Surgery and included delicious Mexican food catered by Hog Haus, Margarita Man beverages, entertainment by Mariachi Amistad, the music of Trajikly White, and extravagant silent and live auctions.
The evening’s most successful auction items included a custom-built Harley Davidson, a trip on a private jet for eight to the Arkansas vs. Alabama Football game, a $1,000 Romance Diamond Company shopping extravaganza, designer denim and shoes each month for a year and the opportunity to be featured in a print ad at 3 Monkeys Children’s Boutique, VIP table for 4 for the season at the AMP, a private wine tasting party at The Wine Cellar for you and 30 guests, and a Zac Brown Autographed Guitar.
Some of the most popular silent auction prizes were the 42 items donated by New School teachers as gifts of time and included having a lock-in party at the school, getting to be teacher for a day, and many more. An exciting $5,000 cash prize raffle was won by Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Jamie Banks.
Lead sponsors included Mailco USA, 3 Monkeys Children’s Boutique, Josh and Stacey Allen, The Neurosurgery Spine Center, Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation, Procter & Gamble, The Bank of Arkansas, B&D Design Services and Ben & Amy Merryman.
All proceeds directly benefit The New School, which has provided excellence in education since 1971. The New School, an independent school, is dedicated to inspiring a love of learning and empowering students to reach their potential for academic achievement, creativity, and citizenship.
