Special Events

Led by a talented group of parent volunteers, The New School holds a variety of fun events for the entire community, which provides opportunities to get together, build community and help our school. Proceeds from the Fun Run and Spring Party events directly benefit our students. If you are interested in helping with any of the following events, please contact the Development Office at 479-521-7037.

Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is a fun back-to-school community event. Held on campus, students enjoy exciting games, crafts, and snacks. Parents are invited to volunteer and.to attend with their students.

Annual Fun Run

The annual Fun Run takes place each fall at the Fayetteville High School Track. This family event is open to the entire NWA community (Children ages 18-months-old to 8th grade) Each runner receives a t-shirt and medal and trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each race.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Held the day before Thanksgiving break, Grandparents & Special Friends Day is an annual all-school event where students share school and showcase their hard work and talents for their loved ones. The day begins with breakfast for our guests, followed by performances by every grade, and ends with tours and activities in the classroom.

Spring Party

Held every spring semester, the Spring Party is an all-school event featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres with a silent and live auction. Volunteers begin planning for this fun event months in advance. Volunteering for this event provides an opportunity to make new friends and reconnect with old friends. We encourage you to volunteer, donate and attend!

Faculty and Staff Appreciation

Volunteers can help show appreciation for our faculty & staff through two major events during the year. A holiday Fiesta held after the new year on campus, and a Staff Appreciation week held later in the spring. There are many ways to get involved and give back to our faculty and staff during these events.

Founder's Day

This new spring event is in celebration of Mr. Bill Mandrell, the school’s founding head of school. The day is the culmination of Arts Week and features a school assembly and and All School Picnic for the entire school community. Students, parents, alumni, and all friends of the school come together for a picnic and fun games outside.
