David Ferrell | January 18 | Cougar Chronicle

Dear Cougars,

We are so excited about the accomplishments of our athletics teams and athletes so far this year! We have finished every sport we have started, so far, and the basketball season has been going great. We are halfway through the season and have followed the CDC and Health Department Guidelines for indoor events. We've had a lot of people tune in for the live streams on Facebook as well, our fans are committed to cheering on our student-athletes! We have started Bowling practices this semester, and we are thrilled by the great participation.

I am excited to announce that since being back from the holiday break our Sr. Boys Basketball team has been recognized as the #2 1A team in the State of Arkansas! Additionally, our JH Girls and Boys, and JV Girls teams are getting better as the season progresses. As these teams continue to grow through the year, we are excited to see our young athletes further develop their skills as well as foster their bond together as a team. There are just nine games remaining before postseason play begins— our teams are looking for a strong finish!

Over the past three years, participation in athletics has grown as we continue to build our current athletic teams. Our athletics staff and student-athletes look forward to potentially adding additional sports in the coming years. As we enter the re-enrollment season at The New School, we hope that all of our current athletes, and our aspiring student-athletes in younger grades, will re-enroll at The New School and get excited to be a part of growing TNS Athletics.

Remember: Tuesday, January 19, is a Cougar Spirit Day. Wear your Cougar Gear to show your support for our athletes at their home game against Thaden School.

Go Cougars!
