David Ferrell | March 17 | Cougar Chronicle

Basketball season has finished up and the Cougars have had another great season! Both Junior high teams ended their season with one of their best years yet. Junior girls won seven games this season, which tripled their wins from last season. They finished third overall in conference and made it to the semifinals of the District Tournament. This is the first time the Junior High girls have made it to the final four of the tournament. Junior Boys finished the year as the overall two seed in conference play and made it to the finals of the District Tournament this season. They finished the season winning second in the District Tournament. They only lost four games the whole season.

Not only did both Junior High teams do really well this season, the Senior High Boys team had another outstanding year! They finished the year 35-6, making it to the finals of the district tournament, and winning third place in the Regional Tournament. They also made it to the State Tournament, winning their first game and making it to the elite eight. Some of their accomplishments this season were winning the Omaha Tournament, Bad Boy Mower Tournament and having five players win postseason awards. Our All-Conference players were Will Sturner, Quintus McNeal, Macheal Hardiman, and Jackson Harris. Evan Goldman received the All-state Award and Coach Ferrell received Coach of the Year. The cougars had an outstanding season and we can’t wait to see what next season has in store.

With basketball ending, track season is upon us. Our Junior High and Senior High track teams recently had their first meets of the season. We are looking forward to what our Cougar athletes do this season. We can’t wait to see everyone out supporting our Cougars the rest of the year!
