As school is beginning to wind down, so is athletics. We are nearing the end of track, our final sport of the year. We had two district champions at our Jr. High District Meet: Caylie A. won the Shot Put and Discus, while Andrew A., Festus M., Holden W. and Wyatt V. won the 4x100 relay! We are looking forward to finishing the track season strong.

We also had two announcements last week that we are very excited about. Cody Matheny was named the first Varsity Girls Head Coach in school history. Coach Matheny has been at TNS since 2014, where he started in the After-School Program, and has been our Jr. Boys Head Coach the last three years. We will be having our first Varsity Girls season next year! “I’m extremely thankful for this opportunity, and pumped to be working with these young ladies. I look forward to working with them every day to reach our goals, and to build this program,” said Coach Matheny.

The second big announcement was naming Jarred Osnes as the Jr. High Boys Head Coach. Coach Osnes has been an assistant coach on our Sr. Boys staff the last two years, and served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for all sports this season. Coach Osnes has been a great addition to our staff, and we are excited to have him building the foundation of our Boys Basketball Program. “I’m excited for this next step in my coaching career, and I’m extremely grateful that I get to do it at TNS. I look forward to continuing to build upon the successes of TNS Athletics, and building high character young men,” said Coach Osnes.

We are thankful for the support of our community, and look to continue building our athletic programs in a way our community will be proud.
