David Ferrell | October 19 | Cougar Chronicle

Dear Cougars,

The month of October is an exciting time for New School Athletics! We have seen several sports wrap up their seasons as others near the end, while some are only just beginning!

Golf, Volleyball and Tennis have all concluded their seasons as of Tuesday the 13th. Golf had 4 golfers compete in the District Tournament, while Volleyball had a full schedule for both Jr. High and Sr. High Girls. This was the first Sr. Girls team in School History! Tennis had a great end to the season; Marleigh Hayes was the District Runner-up in Girls Singles, David Wright, and Henry Daut were District Runner-up in Boys Doubles, and Owen Kohler was the District Champion in Boys Singles. We also had all five members of our Tennis team make the State Tournament for the most participants in School History. Those members were: Marleigh Hayes, David Wright, Henry Daut, Charlie Simmons and Owen Kohler. David and Henry finished in the Top 8 of the State, while Owen finished 3rd. We’re very proud of our Fall Sports athletes for their hard work throughout the season.

October also brings Basketball Season back to The New School home court. On Oct. 19th our Jr. Boys and Sr. Boys open the season with Haas Hall Bentonville at 6:00 pm. The Jr. and Sr. Girls will open their season on Oct. 20th at 4:00 pm at Kingston. For the first time in The New School’s history we will be fielding a Sr. High Girls team! We cannot wait to see these talented upper school athletes in action. The Basketball Schedule can be found on Blackbaud or on The New School website, linked here.

Whether your family will cheer from the stands at a home game or virtually from home, we are grateful for your support of The New School Cougars!

Go Cougars!
