Early Childhood Education
Ages 1-year-old through pre-kindergarten
Our curriculum encompasses a comprehensive program that integrates instruction across all developmental domains and early learning disciplines. It will allow our teachers to differentiate instruction, assess progress and make learning enjoyable while tapping into a child’s nature. Our curriculum will allow for growth in social-emotional learning, cognitive development, early literacy, mathematical thinking, and exploration through art, music, and creative movement.
The New School Early Childhood teachers will use their knowledge, experience, creativity, and skills as professionals to bring our curriculum alive in their classroom and ensure that each student is a fully-engaged learner.
Since our founding in 1971, The New School has provided a creative curriculum for Early Childhood Education. Our student's day is a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. Aligned with our own creative curriculum, Frogstreet Curriculum is used to enhance our curriculum even further and continue to set our students apart.
Curriculum goals for the early childhood program involve creating an environment with many opportunities for growth in social emotional and cognitive development, emergent literacy, social studies, science and technology, mathematical thinking, physical development and health.
I built a circuit board at school!
Evie's eyes twinkle and with a big thumbs up, she will tell you why she loves school. Evie's school day in prekindergarten may begin with singing in music, creating art and end with creating in the tinkering studio.
We get to build stuff, and we built a circuit board! And we go to art studio every day!
With a curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), our students learn from integration of these dynamic areas at an early age.
Our low student, teacher ratio and caring faculty help students look at the world in a new way.
