The New School Awarded Full Accreditation
New School Principal Angel Petet, along with the steering committee, presented the ISACS Accreditation Certificate to New School Board President Erin Bridges.
The New School’s Administration and Board of Trustees gathered to announce that their school was awarded full accreditation by the Independent Schools Association of Central States (ISACS) on May 2. The New School is the only school in the Northwest Arkansas region and one of five schools in the state to achieve this honor.
Amongst school staff and past board members, a couple of Fayetteville’s city officials were in attendance including Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce President Steve Clark and Mayor Lioneld Jordan. Mayor Jordan declared May 2, 2009 as “The New School Day,” and Steve Clark spoke about what the school adds to Northwest Arkansas.

This accreditation validates, in a highly visible fashion, that The New School’s internal expectations also meet more public, national accountability standards. ISACS evaluated all aspects of the school, including its board, faculty, students, parents, curriculum and facilities. Full accreditation by ISACS demonstrates The New School’s commitment to quality education and school growth.
Fiddler On the Roof Was a Smash

Grades 4-7 performed Fiddler On the Roof Junior to packed audiences last week. The little village of Anatevka, the setting of the play, came to life as the students danced and sang in character. The New School plays are always a delightful experience for the students, parents, and staff. Thank you to our drama staff: Andrea Romine, Amy Mason, Betty Butcher, and Mary Newkirk. Also, thank you to our set designer, Garrett Hunt.
If you are interested in purchasing photos of the play, stop by the main entrance hallway for an order form. Each photo is $2 or a disc that includes all of the photos for $25. You can turn your order forms in to the main office.
