Annual Fund

Why the Annual Fund?

Each year, the school relies on contributions to provide critical support to our operating budget above and beyond tuition. Gifts to the annual fund limit our reliance on tuition and help us sustain the unique approach to education that can only be found at The New School. These gifts have an immediate and direct benefit to each student and faculty member, as well as to the quality and range of all school programs.

Our Annual Fund is made up of individual gifts, large and small, which provide the funds necessary to ensure the school maintains its high level of excellence in education and program offerings. We count on the philanthropic support from parents, grandparents, alumni parents, faculty, staff and friends. No matter the size of gift, your contribution to the Annual Fund is important. Only you can help us reach our goal of 100 percent participation.

Impact

Our Annual Fund has an immediate impact on the experience of current students. It supports every aspect of the school - academics, arts, technology and many other programs, including the school's new Tinkering Studio. Your donation allows your child to benefit from small class sizes, challenging curriculum, dedicated faculty, library and classroom supplies, field trips and more. The generosity of parents who contribute to the Annual Fund will immediately benefit current students by funding projects and programs around the school.

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of operating our school. The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) recommends that 10 percent of a school’s operating budget come from annual giving. Your generosity helps make The New School a great place to learn and teach, providing the support to help us attract and retain top-notch faculty members and continue to offer exceptional programs which are unique to The New School.

At The New School, donors can direct their Annual Fund gift to Area of Greatest Need, Academics, Arts, and/or Technology. The Family of Funds provides donors the option of indicating areas of personal interest while supporting fundamental elements of the school program.
